About Visium Law
Our Firm
Every client who walks through our door has a story. Maybe you have spent years developing an idea that is finally ready for the market. Maybe you have built a business or accumulated wealth and started thinking seriously about what happens next. Maybe you are a lender who just needs the documentation done right, by someone who actually understands the transaction. Whatever brought you here, we want to hear it.
That is genuinely how we work. Before anything else, we sit down, we listen, and we ask questions. Every client is different, every legal need is different. We believe the best legal advice starts with understanding the client first, not just the problem in front of them.
Visium Law is a transactional practice, which means we are planners. We would rather help you build something the right way from the start than untangle a mess after the fact. We strive to ensure there are fewer surprises, fewer headaches, and a clearer path from where you are to where you want to be.
Meet Nick McCrillis
I grew up in southern Maine, with an appreciation for living and working in an area you love. It was a fun, loving, and hard-working community where you learned the value of a good relationship. Those things have followed me through every stage of my career, and they are at the core of how I practice law today.
Before law school, I spent a decade in commercial banking at a large national bank, working in commercial lending. That time gave me more than technical credit underwriting, lending, and risk management knowledge; it gave me a genuine appreciation for what is at stake when people make significant life decisions. I learned to listen carefully, ask the right questions, and understand that behind every transaction is someone with real goals and real concerns. When I transitioned to law, I carried all of that with me.
Since becoming an attorney, I have built a transactional foundation focused on intellectual property, commercial lending, estate planning, and other business and contract matters. The thread running through all of it is the same: helping people think ahead, plan carefully, and protect what they have worked to build.
Outside of work, I am a sports fan and enjoy getting out on the golf course whenever I can. I love to travel, I am never far from my dog, and I am happiest when I have good people around me. Family and friends are everything.
I built this firm with a primary focus on the attorney-client relationship. I aim to be more than a call when something goes wrong. I want to be someone you trust, you bounce big (or small) decisions off, and who can work through strategy and planning with you. I want to be someone who knows your situation, and someone who is genuinely invested in where you are headed. A real partner — not just a lawyer.
